Game shows change

A new trend in TV are reality game shows or so-called reality competitions. Shows such as Survivor, Big Brother and The Voice inspire millions. But the concept can also be found more and more often in game shows.

Reality Shows and Competitions

On-Demand makes game shows more interactive

In the field of TV we are no longer viewers but users. We decide ourselves what and when we watch it. Especially in the area of game shows this offers new possibilities. The extension on the internet is one of them. This means that users can take part in a live game parallel to the video. The data then flows into the video stream in part in real time.

International offers move into focus

Very often there are offers from the USA, England and Spain. But often the Netherlands still provides good examples of game shows. The internet connects everyone and in the end it doesn’t matter what language or country an offer comes from. Game shows live from the content itself, which is why they are largely self-explanatory. There is often no longer any need for complex translation or dubbing.

Environment of game shows is adapted

Generally speaking, one can say that the whole environment is changing. Very often there are online offers from the field of games and play, which play a role both as an advertising format and in the show itself. Entire video formats are then adapted to the online offer that is built around reality shows and competitions.

YouTube and other platforms are good examples of how this can look and succeed. For example, there is a computer games video streaming platform where only games are played live by very good players. Viewers can then watch tactics, tips and tricks.

We believe that this trend will continue. In the future there will be more and more formats where the forms mix. We will stay on the ball and report.
